Welcome aboard earthlings
Thanks so much for visiting.
So here we are..
Everything still a bit clunky (sorry about that)
This is what you might call a test transmission
No death rays to worry about
but you may wear your pointy hats if you wish :)
We come in peace.
Over the years I have been privileged to work with some wonderful, very talented creative spirits- musicians, filmmakers, artists, architects- indeed a veritable posse of familiar accomplices along with esteemed guests.
Thank you all.
The excerpts here are a sampling from those many collaborations as well as solo projects that I have produced over the years.
Some pieces have been completed and seen light of day in other forms elsewhere, while others are bones and sketches from the alien drawing boards, including current unplugged sonic adventures with fellow alien traveller Peter Rule playing landscape harp, and with guest appearances from visiting alien musical friends, all sitting in the alien archives waiting to be manipulated, mixed and mastered and maybe, hopefully, even visit a venue near you.
Further contributions from visiting alien friends will regularly appear here in future iterations.
So please visit again soon as things are regularly added, changed and updated.
Meanwhile please explore - the site is still a work in progress but most pages do have forwards, backwards and home buttons, and some of the other buttons will work to reveal and play more content on other pages.
While things are still a bit clunky, it should be quite simple when you get the hang of it and hopefully you will find some interesting things to listen to if you search them out along the way.
There are a few simple instructions in the Using This Site section if you would like to read them.
Thanks again for visiting :)

September 2022
We have just released Ashes in the Snow, a preview track from the new visiting aliens album Daylight is Bleeding (due out in December) via various streaming services such as Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, and Youtube as well as available for download from Bandcamp at: https://visitingaliens.bandcamp.com/track/ashes-in-the-snow
Featuring special guest Mark Gardiner on mandolin, we would like to dedicate the song to the people of the Ukraine.
Originally written some time ago about the fate of Tibetan nomads caught up in Chinese nuclear testing on the tundra of the Tibetan plateau ( with consequences similar in many ways to events in Maralinga), when we first played this track for the recording earlier this year we were reminded of events unfolding in the Ukraine, of victims yet again to the brutality of another tyranny.
Our hearts go out to you all.
January 2022
Finally some good news after a long hiatus thanks to lockdown:

AND...
And at long last we can announce we have scheduled the release of our new album Daylight is Bleeding for December this year 2022.
Stay tuned for dates and venues for our record launch.

Kyoto '97 Revisited
Another new song from the alien jukebox has just been released!
One of several recently discovered in an old alien songbook, it has been quickly rearranged and recorded as, in the light of the recent bushfires, it seems to have become more relevant than ever.
Originally written in the wake of the Howard government's refusal to endorse the Kyoto protocols in 1997, it seems the future has caught up with us and only the names of the culprits have changed...
Available for download only from visitingaliens.bandcamp.com
In other good news, several visiting aliens songs have now been selected on the triplej unearthed site including the new release Kyoto '97 Revisited.
If you would like to encourage us please be inspired to leave a review there!

Xmas 2019
Sodium Lights
For many years it has been a practice here at visiting aliens at Christmas time to consider the less fortunate- those without a home or even a country to go to- and then imagine oneself in their shoes.
In a reflexive effort to make sense of things, in empathy, we have then written songs about it.
These songs have accumulated over the years but they all seem to indicate that some things never change.
Sodium Lights is this year's edition but sadly it could have been written anytime.
Thinking of all the visiting aliens everywhere at Christmas
and wishing you all a brighter New Year chasing the light.
October 15, 2019.
Ghosts..
The first tranche of songs from the alien jukebox has been released.

USING THIS SITE
First a few technical notes- apparently some internet browsers don't like sound - at least when you splash open a page -so you might like to turn it on in your preferences to hear this web site properly..
Depending on your internet connection some sounds may take a moment or two to load.
Please zoom in or out until the home page is centred.
All the devices (the alien jukebox, the gallery etc ) on the spacsehip dashboard have more than one page.
Not all buttons work yet but on most pages you will see a yellow forward and backwards button and a red home button.
Some of the other buttons will play more content or reveal other pages if you try them out.
Please explore - though things are still a bit clunky hopefully you will find a lot of interesting things to listen to if you search along the way.
In the Alien Gallery you can also choose different albums of images using the four yellow buttons.
On the Alien TV the forwards and backwards buttons are violet instead of yellow.
(sorry.. we sometimes use different suppliers from different planets..)
On the Alien Jukebox and the Alien Atmosphere Sampler there is also a link to Bandcamp if you would like to download any of the material in higher quality as it becomes available.
Alternatively go to visitingaliens.bandcamp.com when you leave this site.
Collections of songs from the alien jukebox will be regularly released there.
Meanwhile our alien technicians are working on improving many things but please do send any helpful advice if it comes to mind.
Peace.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I would like to thank a number of people, first and foremost the team from SAE - Harry Chik, Eugene Yeap, Nat Prugsaritanon, Spiro Aravanis, Brittney Jones, and Chloe McNamara-Bates - without whom this website would not be possible.
Thank you all for your patience and hard work, and especially Harry for doing the extra miles.
I would also like to thank Duncan MacLean from SAE for organising the team and indeed Michael Finucan for making the initial contact.
I would also like to thank Sean Callinan, Duane Allam and Nikki Walkerden for their invaluable ideas and input into the early stages of devising this website, and Greg Ryan for his ongoing technical advice and production.
Finally I would like to thank all the creative spirits- the artists, musicians, filmmakers, graphic designers, architects and audio experts - who I have been privileged to collaborate with over the years.
It has been fun. What's next?
